Week 1: Why did the Titanic hit the iceberg?

We all have seen the movie Titanic. I first saw it on VHS when I was a small boy. Kind of sad, it is. When it comes to the tragic sinking of the ship, we all know that it's the iceberg that hit it.
During class, we were questioned on why it hit the iceberg. Well, after analyzing, I come up with a conclusion that it's the error in communication was the cause.
Week 1: Object of Curiosity
During class, my lecturer showed us this object. It’s pink
and small. The question is: What is that thing? He said we can deduce it our
own way.
My guess is, the object
functions as a cookie cutter. Small cookies.
